Sunnyvale, CA - July 15, 2011 - Total Phase, an industry-leading provider of embedded systems tools, is pleased to announce the release of the Komodo™ CAN Duo Interface, a powerful two-channel USB-to-CAN adapter and analyzer. The Komodo CAN Duo Interface is a versatile tool, capable of active CAN data transmission and non-intrusive CAN bus monitoring. As with our USB, I2C, and SPI tools, the Komodo interface also features cross-platform support for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
"With the addition of the Komodo CAN Duo Interface to our current line of products, we look forward to providing engineers with the same affordable, high-performing solutions that our customers have come to expect from our USB, I2C, and SPI tools," said Derek Fung, VP Business at Total Phase. "The CAN protocol has become increasingly prevalent as it spreads beyond the automotive industry and our Komodo interface provides the flexible functionality needed by developers working across industries."
The Komodo CAN Duo Interface serves as the ideal all-in-one tool for engineers working with a variety of CAN applications, including automotive, medical, military, industrial, and more. Using the same real-time technology recognized in the Beagle™ protocol analyzers, developers are able to non-intrusively monitor the CAN bus for an interactive debugging experience. CAN data can be actively injected on to the bus at up to 1 Mbps. This portable and high-performance tool provides developers with a flexible and comprehensive solution for real-time CAN analysis and development.
One of the unique features of the Komodo CAN Duo Interface is that it features two USB interfaces and two independent customizable CAN channels. This architecture of the Komodo interface allows it to connect each CAN channel to both USB interfaces, allowing developers to send data to both CAN channels from a single USB interface while monitoring both CAN channels from the second USB interface. Engineers interested in monitoring and programming data for a CAN device concurrently can take advantage of this feature to streamline their development cycle.
The Komodo CAN Duo Interface is now shipping. Priced at $450 in the United States, it includes our royalty-free API that allows users to develop custom applications. Until September 30, 2011, customers can save $100 and order the Komodo interface at a special introductory price of $350 per unit. Engineers familiar with Total Phase's Beagle protocol analyzers and Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter will be able to effortlessly transition to CAN analysis with the eventual integration of CAN support into the industry-recognized Data Center™ Software and Control Center™ Software. These updated versions of the Data Center Software and Control Center Software for CAN analysis will be available later this year in the fall.
