Total Phase Previews the Highly Anticipated Komodo CAN Duo Interface at the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley

Embedded Systems Conference, San Jose – May 3, 2011 - Total Phase, an industry-leading provider of embedded systems tools, is pleased to showcase the Komodo CAN Duo Interface at Booth 1838 during the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley. The Komodo interface, a powerful two-channel CAN-to-USB adapter, is the newest addition to Total Phase's line of development tools that already includes support for USB, I2C, and SPI.

"Total Phase is excited to add the Komodo CAN Duo Interface to our line of our products," said Derek Fung, VP Business at Total Phase. "With the broad availability of CAN-integrated microcontrollers and the increasing use of the protocol in embedded applications, adding support for CAN to our product line is of strategic importance. The Komodo interface will have all the features and ease-of-use that engineers have come to expect from our market-leading tools in USB, I2C, and SPI protocols."

Using the Komodo interface, developers will be able to monitor CAN activity in real time while also actively transmitting data across the bus at up to 1 Mbps. The Komodo interface is also able to act as a repeater to bridge two separate CAN networks. With its industrial-strength architecture, the Komodo interface is ideal for operating in a wide variety of environments. Combined with its portable size and durability, the Komodo interface is an ideal solution for a variety of applications including automotive, military, industrial, and medical.

Developers already familiar with Total Phase software will find the learning curve minimal as CAN support will be integrated into the industry-recognized Data Center Software and the Control Center Software. Engineers that have used a Beagle protocol analyzer will be able to seamlessly transition to CAN analysis without the need to learn a new interface.

Pricing and Availability

Featuring a low price and cross-platform support for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, the Komodo interface will be available in June 2011.
