Sunnyvale, CA - December 18, 2009 - Total Phase, a leading provider of embedded systems tools, is pleased to announce the release of the new Data Center™ 4.0 Software, an upgrade to the industry's only protocol analysis software that captures and displays USB, I2C, and SPI data in true real time for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
Data Center 4.0 Software offers expanded real-time class-level decoding, with support for Video, Printer, CDC (communication device class), DFU (device firmware upgrade), and Still Image (PTP) USB classes. Class-level decoding translates low-level USB data captured by the software into a human-readable format, all in true real time. With more classes, more developers can streamline the analysis, development, and debugging of their devices.
Data Center 4.0 Software also introduces a customizable graphical user interface. Total Phase software has always had a reputation for its intuitive layout and user-friendly features. Now, the software is even more interactive, allowing developers to modify and change the displays to fit their needs. Engineers can create a customized interface, which focuses on the most user-relevant pieces of information. Like before, the Data Center software still offers hierarchical transaction grouping and advanced filtering capabilities to make data as accessible as possible.
"The Data Center software has always offered strong features and a user-friendly interface. This release is an expansion of both those ideas. Being able to customize the interface is crucial to creating the best possible user experience," said Derek Fung, Senior Engineer at Total Phase. "Data Center software has a very strong feature set, and with the new additions to the current functionality, it is even more useful."
Other new features include an improved hex editor, bandwidth meter, timing tools with shifting time references, comment support, and automatic update checking.
"The update notification feature is a great addition to the Data Center software, because it makes sure the user knows about all the newest releases, which always include new features and improvements" said Etai Bruhis, Engineer at Total Phase. "Often, engineers use the Data Center software to collaborate with colleagues in different locations, and the update notifier will make sure everyone is using the most advanced version."
The Data Center software is a complete, free solution for engineers working with USB, I2C, and SPI protocols. With real-time analysis, developers avoid waiting times due to delayed downloads, and Data Center software's strong filter and search functionality allow deeper interaction with the data. The new Data Center 4.0 Software works with the Beagle™ line of hardware protocol analyzers, creating a full analysis solution.
The Beagle™ Protocol Analyzers are the hardware complement to the Data Center software. The Beagle analyzers non-intrusively capture and display USB, I2C, and SPI serial bus data. Total Phase offers three different bus monitors: the Beagle™ USB 480 Protocol Analyzer, a high-speed USB monitor, the Beagle USB™ 12 Protocol Analyzer, a full- and low-speed USB monitor, and the Beagle™ I2C/SPI Protocol Analyzer, an I2C and SPI bus monitor.
The Data Center 4.0 Software is available immediately as a free download for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X on the Total Phase website. Beagle Protocol Analyzers can be purchased online. Orders placed before 2 PM PST are usually shipped the same day.
Total Phase manufactures user-friendly, powerful, and affordable USB, I2C, and SPI development tools for embedded systems engineers. The Total Phase developer tools combine best-of-breed features, Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X support, a royalty-free API, free software updates, and free lifetime support, making them perfect additions to any engineer's toolbox.
