Total Phase introduces the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter

SUNNYVALE, CA - June 12, 2003 - Total Phase is proud to introduce the Aardvark™ I2C/SPI Embedded Systems Interface.

The Aardvark I2C/SPI Embedded Systems Interface is a fast and powerful I2C bus and SPI bus host adapter that operates over USB. It allows a developer to interface a host PC to a downstream embedded system environment and transfer serial messages using the I2C and SPI protocols. I2C and SPI capabilities can be used concurrently.

Being USB 1.1 compliant, the Aardvark device benefits from USB's generous bandwidth, as well as its ability to supply power on the bus. Also, unlike other devices which claim to support fast 400 kbps I2C over a slow 115 kbps RS-232 link, the Aardvark adapter has enough bandwidth to easily support Fast I2C in a sustained mode of operation.

The clean and straightforward API is a hallmark of the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter. Many customers have simply looked at the header file comments to successfully integrate the Aardvark adapter into a fully working solution. Most importantly, the Aardvark adapter is fully supported on both Linux and Windows and the API is royalty-free.

Built with the developer in mind, the Aardvark adapter is designed so that its internal firmware can be upgraded by the user, thereby allowing the inclusion of any performance enhancements or critical fixes available after the purchase of the device.

The Aardvark I2C/SPI Embedded Systems Interface offers a wealth of features at an affordable price. It is an indispensible tool for the embedded systems engineer.
