The GUI Software for the Komodo CAN Solo Interface Makes it Easy to Monitor Activity over the CAN Bus and Communicate to Devices
Rena

Question from the Customer:

I have been using the Komodo CAN Solo Interface with Data Center Software for monitoring the CAN bus.  Can I use the same software to send CAN messages and monitor the CAN bus, or is there another application that I should use for that?

Response from Technical Support:

Thanks for your question! You can use the Komodo GUI Software for sending and receiving messages over the CAN bus. This Komodo GUI Software logs all activities over the CAN bus; CAN messages can be sent allowed while logging.  Other features include:

  • Sending commands via Batch mode
  • Periodic messaging
  • GPIO configuration interface

Our video Using the Komodo GUI Software to Interface with the CAN/I2C Activity Board Pro shows an example of writing to a device, as well as monitoring activity.

The video uses the CAN/I2C Activity Board Pro, which can be easily used for prototyping and testing new ideas with the Komodo CAN Interfaces, as well as the Aardvark I2C/SPI Adapter. The CAN/I2C activity board can be used to emulate many types of devices including motion sensor, light sensor, Digital-to-Analog Conversion (DAC) and more.
